We understand that your children are important, and that you want to know how best to take care of them. - Remove the gauze pads and apply ice packs once you get home.
- Feed your child and have them take medication as needed and directed.
- Continue to use ice packs for the first two days in order to reduce swelling.
- Begin to use moist heat on the third day.
- Your child should rest and relax for four to five days.
- You child should only eat soft foods for at least the first week.
- Do not let your child use straws for at least the first week.
- Your child should brush their teeth the day after surgery.
- Clean the empty socket with warm saltwater rinses.
- Restrict all heavy lifting and strenuous activity for one week. We can provide an excuse note if it is necessary.
